Thematic and The Effective Learning

In the second meeting, I learned about thematic studies at the beginning of lesson. My friends and I watched a video about thematic learning in an elementary school. After that, we conducted a short discussion in a group, based on group distribution. The thing that we had discussed was either thematic effective or not. As the result of my discussion with friends in group, we agree that thematic is effective method to use in elementary school.
Why is it effective method for elementary school? At that time based on the video we consider some points which influenced why the teacher chose this method. First, because of the student are children. As we know, the children are prefer to play rather than study. So, when the teacher provided joyful learning, we solid for the usage of this method. Second, it could integrate some lessons in a package. Based on our idea, the setting of its package was really effective and efficient. The main reason was also the student was still child. We were think that it was to anticipate the boredom of learning such lesson in hours. Third, the mechanism of delivering the material was meaningful/ touching. The teacher was using some terminology from the family and their (students) environments. Because of that, the students could recognized the material easily and also potential for them to practice it in home. So, the conclusion was the thematic and its strengths is a suitable method for elementary students.
The course was continued by the topic how we as the teacher candidates can develop an effective learning. One of the ways/ exercise that we practiced was arrange the lesson plan. Honestly, I did not really understand about lesson plan though I had made it with friends in group. There are some parts that I do not know, like the template, and the points that we must define. Hopefully, in the next meeting I can comprehend the lesson plan well.
Even though I do not know some parts, actually I know about the contents generally. When we make a lesson plan, there is one thing that we must consider along composing it. It is about taxonomy bloom. So, the lesson plan should be able to encourage students to think critically. As we know, in taxonomy bloom the competency which called high order thinking are analyzing, evaluating, and creating. Usually, these competencies include in the students’ assessment. As a consequence, we can measure about students competencies after receive the lesson. Finally, the lesson plan that we include the taxonomy bloom inside will be a good or appropriate guidance to be used in a class.
Ibu Ine, please explain me about lesson plan and all of the terms later. It so important for the teacher candidate, isn’t it?
